In search of Adventure…. (is this weeks nominated theme :- http://dailypost.wordpress.com/dp_photo_challenge/adventure/ ) . Climbers walk for miles to reach this isolated rock pillar, The Old Man of Stoer, on the remote North West Coast of Scotland. Look closely and you will see a red coated climber setting his belay ready for the summit attempt. As a one time rock climber, I still find it exciting to watch those who are now more able than me, seeking adventure on coastal cliffs or high mountain crags. For me this coastal path was exhilarating enough!

If there were grades, this would be an A+. Gorgeous scenery and thank you for the note about the ‘red.’ 🙂

That is one exiting motive! It seems to nearly as high as ‘Svolværgeita’ outside Svolvær in Lofoten?

From memory the height of 200ft (60metres) comes to mind and because of its location looks even higher!

Oh, to be young and lithe again! Not that something like this was ever quite within my capabilities, but what a thrill that must be!

and I still get a buzz just watching anticipating where the next hand hold should be….that eases the realisation that physically it is well beyond me now
