No mists this morning to add to the woodland ambience but still fresh clean light to catch the greens and increasingly the reds and oranges of autumn. As each day goes by the approaching autumn makes its arrival more obvious. As the year has been so dry many of the leaves are just dropping and decaying and I suspect that if we get just one strong wind it will strip the trees. Till then we can enjoy mid Septembers bounty….
Do you remember that I discovered a small ‘Doorway’ in the base of one of the trees. It must be loved by someone as each week there seems to be some new decoration of woodland treasure trove decorating the entrance….
Yet another perfect September day to “Rest Awhile” and enjoy the sounds, smells and colour of the ever changing month…..

In my ‘very’ local woods here in Allestree Derbyshire…it is appropriately named ‘Big Wood’ but in reality only a small but interesting wood and no less important for birds and insects.
