Followers of my Blog will know that my footsteps in the winter months are dogged by discoveries of ‘Lost Gloves’…..The temperatures have dropped, not by a lot but enough to encourage some folk to dig out their gloves. Not just that but they continue to drop them en-route. The mystery has always been…
“ Why are all the adult gloves we find LEFT handed?….and to add to the conundrum when we find the occasional a child’s glove it is RIGHT handed? ”
20th October and the first discoveries of the winter have appeared, and yes, both adult gloves and both are Left handed!
So anyone with any answers to the Left/Right mystery please speak up…….
Can I add that it would seem that ‘Glove Finders’ are a considerate bunch as the gloves are always hung, draped, placed just as you see them.

If you walk with a child, you tend to use your left hand to hold their right – it keeps *your* right hand free for sweets, tissues and other child-required actions. And the glove falls out of a pocket, I would guess…

Just a further thought….as we get far more adult gloves then your theory I guess wouldn’t work. Unless of course adults are far more careless than kids; which of course the facts suggest that they are otherwise why would we get mainly adult gloves!
Stupid I know but a puzzle all the same.

I’m starting to think you have a reader who occasionally thinks, “You know, I haven’t put out a glove for him in a while….”

If that is the case over the past two years they will have ‘thrown away’ over 60 left handed gloves. But I will keep an eye open for those folk walking about with left hand in pocket and right hand gloved!!

How very strange! Maybe some people have left hands that get too warm inside a glove. 😕
