After several days of dark, damp and miserable weather, it is a real uplift for the spirits of the inner man, when the sun breaks through. It may well have only lasted for an hour but no less welcome for that. The rains and wind have stripped many trees, leaves gone before they can show off any mass display of autumn colour.
Others like the Beech tree below have leaves that have faded to a dull yellow a poor offering to their normal rich brown pigment…..

The Oak still hangs on to its leaves, but again a concern as normally it retrains its winter brown leaves until early spring when the new buds burst and push the old leaf away, its job of protecting the buds completed.

Looking at the forecasts on a daily basis (sad isn’t it) I guess we have been very lucky in Central England….if there has been any good weather going it has headed our way. For November we cannot complain. I understand Torridon was the place to be last week, well for a good part of it, or so some other photographer friends have been bragging. Good luck hope it all works out well. How’s the Drone going or !have you crashed it?!

I often find I want to be somewhere else classic was yesterday – Kyle of Lochalsh was Alsh was stunning and I had to go and visit my webmaster (new all singing and dancing website in the pipeline – I shall incorporate this blog as part of it) but I really wanted to drive to the west coast. Still the bills must be paid. The drone has been quiet with the rain and winds. I need light winds really – It can be flown in as much as 12mph but you have to work to hard on flying her, light winds allow you to fly and utilise her as a imaging platform. I have taken a few property shots which have really added value to the Schedule. I also had a session at Findlater Castle recently where I put it right out over the oggin getting some wonderful shots of the peninsula but they will need a return for some sunrise light to make them publishable. I have even enquired about moving up to a pro platform to allow me to put a DSLR up but we are talking 6 to 8K plus 6K pilots course – the return is definitely there but I fear I would end up with a change of direction and workload that I am not committed too.
