After the Storms……….the First Signs of Spring

First Daffodil Shoots of 2015

The first sure sign that Spring may just be on the way…..new shoots from Wild Daffodil’s deep in the woods, now starting to burst through the leaf cover on the woodland floor.

I know that in sheltered places near to the warmth of our house in our garden there are some small signs that spring bulbs are starting to reach upwards to the light, but in the cold depths of the wood early January is quite early.

The Storms seem to have abated, for how long we don’t know, but as mentioned yesterday there has been little damage in the woods. Thankfully these Scots Pine can remain standing tall…..
