Solitary Daffodil……

One solitary woodland daffodil, the only real signs that spring is on the way.  Apart from that the Woods are bare, the winds have swept away most of the old growth and woodland litter, pruning some of the weaker branches, leaving the woods cold but clean, ready for the burst of new spring growth that is bound to come….when of course it is good and ready!

Bare the woods maybe, lacking those brighter colours but they are far from sole less. A brisk walk in air that has that unique fresh spring aroma and you can walk for miles, each step invigorating, refreshing… allowing one to dream of those spring revelations yet to come.

      1. Too much, too fast, I’m afraid. On our west coast the forecast is heavy rains up to 3000 feet. Here, up into the mountais, the snow depth in excess of 16 feet! That’s all gonna come down somewhere . . .
And there will be local floodings!!!
