Reykjavik is compact,dramatic and appears all very new. Likewise Iceland itself is also very new in terms of its existence in geological terms and is still a land that is dominated by its volcanic history. Placed across the American and Eurasian tectonic plates it makes for a very interesting landscape. So here is a short trip out and about just to give a flavour of the city and countryside of Reykjavik.

There are a lot of your photos of Iceland that remind me of my walking tour of the Scottish Islands – Lewis/Harris and Skye. Beautiful.
