After two days of dull grey cloud cover with mist hanging in a lifeless atmosphere today has woken with a really fresh feel.
Even the woods seem revitalised. The Sycamore leaves are bright green in the morning sun trying hard to trick you into thinking that it is Spring again.
The Bracken is also doing its bit to had to the trickery as well trying to out do the Sycamore
Refreshing as the woods are this morning there is that distinctive smell that indicates that autumn is on the way.
Nor can the Bracken hid the fact that autumnal fade and decay has arrived even though it is still only hints
Refreshing…you bet! Its great to be out and about.

Autumn aromas… the best there are. Earthy smells and golden colours in the sunshine and a wee little breeze… Great pics against the light through the crimson and golden leaves… the sound of foorsteps through the dry and fallen dead leaves. A wee bit of mushroom smell as well in between. Fresh and hazy mornings, warm days and a hot drink afterwards. Enjoy…. I can imagine the smells, the sounds of somebody walking through the dead leaves, feel the sun on my face, picking up some conkers and acorns and when lucky a couple of hazelnuts. Just by watching your photos and the autumn pics from other people as well, llike f.i. Tony Richardson who roames through the Lake District with Sir Ben. 😀
