Dawn, a light frost and heavy dew with Spiders Webs everywhere and you needed no telling that may be Autumn had now arrived.
Mind you walking through the woods today you did get mixed messages. Long dark shadows contrast with the cutting rays of the sun. Many greens are still bright and spring like. Fungi, Sweet Chestnuts and Cedar Cones tell us that it is the fruiting season, whilst browning Oak leaves are working to a different time clock…..a time clock that produced a hint of colour across the Lake at dusk….
Spiders everywhere….I wonder where they go in the winter?

You’ll soon be called ‘the spider man’! 🙂
What is it that let you discover all these webs now? Low sun?

Low sun…but its the frost or dew that sticks to the almost invisible web making it thicker and for a short while easier to see.
