Loch Ewe, Wester Ross, North West Highlands of Scotland
Officially at 23.34pm BST it is the Summer Solstice.ย We have been lucky and caught many mid summer sunsets whilst travelling in Scotland.
This one was rather special in some ways.ย It all started so well, just a few clouds to add interest as the sun slowly sank towards the horizon.ย First the colours came and all was hope, then a breeze started to ripple across the bay and within a very short time clouds rolled in from the north. This was the last we were to see of the sun. Those clouds lived up to there threatening promise and that night we had torrential rain and the following day gale force winds.ย But that is Scottish weather for you changeable and spectacular.

Nice shot somewhat like yesterday here…superb walk along the coast, now cannot get front door open…rainstorms and gale force winds.

It still goes on dear david, in a day it’s been cut but comes again… I think this summer it would be like that… Thank you so much, be sure I visit always just can’t write comment always… Sorry for this. Love, nia

Fabulous sunset, David. Thank you. Celebrating the Summer Solstice (LITHA) is planned for tomorow but due to the weather, I will keep it indoors. Hope these folks will have better weather: http://dilstonphysicgarden.com/ ๐

A brilliantly sunset! My eye was also caught by the circular ripple in the foreground…it all seemed to have a symbolic symmetry.
