Mother Cap, Hathersage Moor, Derbyshire
Here is an image from the archive, the end of February two years ago….I also think that was the last proper winter we had. You can see there are still remnant of snow and ice. We had several weeks were snow was all about us and icy mornings the norm.
Since then our winters have been poor excuses for winter. Now I know many will say “thank goodness for that” but I have missed that step change in the seasons….I always felt everything could start anew, refreshed from hibernation.

Mother Cap is just one of many weather beaten ‘Tors’ to be found across Hathersage Moor.

The light of the wintersun looks warm. We it isn’t. 😀 But the colours are again beautiful.

As we know the sun can fool the senses ….I suppose that is why a little sunshine lifts the spirits and adds smiles to folks faces
