By tradition, Monday is usually defined as “Washing Day”.
But here in the Scottish Fishing village of Pennan on the Aberdeenshire Coast, and being a north east coast, it can be rather bleak… So the locals take advantage of any bright sunny day to dry their washing. As the sea is just a few meters to the left, windy days can create salt spray, not ideal for the clothes so best avoided. Quite a juggling act and skilled weather watching needed.
Whatever you are juggling and wherever you are… always….

Wow! “Quite a juggling act and skilled weather watching needed.” Hanging washing and dry them in the open air actually the best. But now, mostly we use dry-machine for them, even me too. Beautiful photograph, I always like washing lines… Thank you dear David, Have a nice day, Love, nia

When we first moved to Benbecula we had a rotary line in the garden which was tied to the fence. We wondered why. We soon found out!
