April 6th and the sun shines bright, no wind and it is actually warm…yes warm, what a change. Rowers were out on the Derwent getting rid of their pent up energy, training for the new seasons races.
In the gardens little shoots of colour were bursting into life at long last……
But despite these little colour coded signs that spring may be on the way, the trees still look as if they are in the grips of winter, bare and bleak sentries of the season supposedly past….
Whilst there were no takers for the bench, it was still much to cold to linger, there were still plenty of folk out enjoying this welcome break from the winter gloom….
The long range forecast is not that encouraging. The experts reckon that this is a mini break in our winter weather, we still have a further 2 weeks of winter before there is any real change….So the rowers get on with their training whilst they can……..
