…………and still it SNOWS

It started to snow yesterday and has continued non-stop for over 36 hours and still shows no sign of easing…..

S2

The only good news is that it is a very fine snow and a touch damp, so whilst the covering is reasonably thick, it is nothing like the covering of a full winters snow.  I am told that the wind chill to-day is giving us a temperature that feels like minus 9c, though I think it feels much colder. That said, the ambient temperature is still just above freezing so the lake has not yet frozen over….

Not really the sort of weather that encourages you to venture out, dull, grey and miserable, the damp snow clinging to your boots making them three sizes bigger than they are and of course twice as heavy. But the dogs ‘insist’ on walkies, so off to the woods…..

Out of the woods and across the fields the easterly wind is still blowing and wiping up the snow to sting your face and gloves only come off for a quick shot or two……

S5

Although the snow is only fine, enough has accumulated on this Cedar to weigh down the branches….a few weeks ago the weight of the snow was so heavy that it broke several branches.  At the moment it still presents an attractive shape so fingers crossed that no more damage will occur……

S4

No takers on the Golf Course this afternoon nor I doubt will there be tomorrow…….

S8

But at long last Carla and Buster decide to call it a day……so home for din-dins! for them and a hot chocolate for me…….

S11

As for tomorrow…..well the forecasters say it will be ‘More of the Same!’
