Spring has been so slow to make its mark this year, yet when it did everything seems to have arrived with a rush. Green growth everywhere and this Variegated Hosta is just one of those minor miracles of spring….just over a week ago there was no sign, not a glimmer of growth just plain brown earth. Then one shoot and 8 days later a mass of green fresh foliage catching some of to-days heavy rains…….
………….even a lone Aquilegia is fighting for the same ground space!
Nor is the Clematis going to be left behind. From bare twigs, to fresh leaf and swelling buds, now in just a matter of days a bud that is bursting….the first of what will be many…….
Now all we want is the sun to return and the cold winds to change direction and bring in some warm southerly air…..is it too much to hope for? I hope not.
