The Lake had warning signs arround it this morning, not surprising as although it has been cold the temperatures have not been that far below freezing….so the message is clear ‘stay off the ice’..
In fact the Lake is covered with a thin layer of slush. It isn’t surprising when you reflect on the weather for the past few days….now this sounds strange but it has snowed for the past 4 days ‘but’ it hasn’t. I know that sounds daft but what we have had is a constant mist of very fine wet flakes that you cannot describe as snow, sleet or rain…..very odd. But no matter as it has still left a fine covering of white over the fields and trees…..
The red bark of this Cornus or Dog Wood contrast with the monotone surrounds
But as you may be able to see here the snow just hangs in the air like mist
Now if only the sun would break through…it would be wonderland!
