Clover is now starting to proliferate in the meadows adding a purple glow to the yellow Buttercups and fresh green grasses of summer….
……I guess it is going to make a great Hay crop full of nutrients for winter feed supplement.
Back in the garden a plant with a very similar flower head is now starting to add its own colour to our rockery…it is the Alpine Pink….
We also have our first Lupine of the summer. I think I prefer the flower spike when it reaches this stage….not quite full colour but more than enough to stake its claim as a big player in the herbaceous border….
Down by the pond we also have the first of the summers Flag Iris, a beautiful flower head that sadly never lasts that long…
Even the hedgerows are joining in the summer fest with Dog Roses creeping through the lush vegetation…
Even back in the conservatory this Kalanchoe plant with its fresh White is making its mark in the summer sunshine….
And there must be much, much more to come over the coming weeks of summer for us to enjoy.
