Dire warnings of heavy snows from the Met Office have so far proved just a touch dramatic in our part of the U.K. I hear that many places are up to their necks in snow but not for us. True, January 18th has seen the first real snows of the winter but it far from deep and crisp and even!
The snow flakes are damp and blowing about in the wind but they are not as yet sticking to the trees. It is also dull, grey and just damp everywhere, so unless there is a drop in temperature I don’t think it is going to last and present us with those picture postcard scenes.
None to sure that these three ‘sausage dogs’ were enjoying their mornings walkies, I fear that their undercarriage is a trifle close to the ground…..
and there are no takers for the bench this morning…..
I suppose it depends upon your outlook…. But either it is the hope that the ‘best’ is yet to come; or it is relief, that if this is as ‘bad’ as it gets then it will soon be over for another winter. Not sure I am going to dust off the sledge just yet…
18th January
