First Snowdrops…….

These may not be the most spectacular of floral arrangements but they do have the honour of being our fist Snowdrops of the New Year….and of course the first harbingers of the Spring to come.  Just one small clump caught in the early morning glow of sunshine…..

Snowdrop-1

There will be more Snowdrops to come…but that sunshine was not to last, the sky turned a cold milky white over the woods now bare and stark..….still not bad for the end of January.

Cold-wood-1 We have had rain, snow, gales and even more rain so that is not a good omen for the new month ahead which countrymen call ‘February Fill Dyke’…….we will have to wait to see if their traditional prediction comes true.

31st January
