Now it Snows……………..now it doesn’t

The weather has been keeping the Meteorological Office busy in its attempts to predicted just what is in store for us.  They predicted a large ‘dump’ of snow overnight……and they were correct, for as we turned in for the day it had started to snow with a vengeance…..

They also predicted that today would start bright and sunny with temperatures making a quick rise to about 9c.  True again…blue skies and sunshine welcomed the dawn so we headed off for a quick walk in the woods….

Judging by all the rabbit tracks the woods had been alive for a good while before we arrived.

The snow at first did look ‘deep and crisp and even’ but not for long as the temperatures started to rise, so may be if the forecasters are to be believed this may be our last snows this winter….so lets enjoy whilst we can…….

By the time we returned home the thaw had really set in, the car we had left under a heavy blanket of snow was magically re-appearing as we watched…

Heavy rains are forecast (as if we haven’t had enough of those this winter) which with the rapid snow melt has now put many places on flood alert. It is a real possibility and my heart goes out to those who could be effected.

So, if this is to be the last of our snows, here is one last shot of these majestic Ash trees against a warming blue sky…

    1. Who knows….the forecaster are very positive that is it for this winter. Common sense just says that it is still January and February and March may well have their own agenda

    1. Yep…U.K. it is ….or rather was….it rained very heavy last night and this morning there is not a sign that there was thick snow yesterday. But have we seen the last of the winter? I doubt it!

  1. It could have been worse? I read that they have minus 45 degrees C (!!!) in parts of USA at the moment and that it’s gonna stay cold for at least another week.
But if one can hold his camera, there are chances of getting ‘frosty motives’ you don’t get elsewhere.
