    1. Narrowboats are 6ft 10″ wide but can vary in length. If I remember right this one was 58ft long. In the days when these were the mode of commercial transport, as well as carrying a cargo the boatman and his family would also live on board. As you can guess living space was at a premium.

      1. As the name indicates: Really narrow! My old boat was 10,8 feet across and my very first was
        8,32 feet across. I remember I used to consider that too narrow 🙂 but what a length!!!

  1. Ooooh! I would so love to take a tour on a canal boat! CD and I were planning to do one in Belgium, but we had to cancel the trip at the last minute. We are planning a big tour within the next few years and this is one of the activities that are high on our wish list. Do you know if multi-day tours/excursions are available on these narrowboats in the UK?
