As May approaches…just where did April go?…….the Bluebells are starting to fade.
First the leaves fall back then the flowers, on their long stems, bend and then fade. The Bluebell season is always short lived but this year it does seem to be even shorter (at least in our part of England).
It has been warm and dry, which should have helped, but the the woodland canopy is filling out and casting its dark shadows earlier, so may be the lack of light is the problem. Still they have been wonderful whilst they last.
