Montbretia for many is a wild plant, a plant of the roadside, particularly in West Highlands of Scotland. But it is a welcome visitor from the ‘wild side’ to our garden where, from August thru September, it is creates a swath of delicate golden and orange flowers……one of the signs that autumn is heading our way.

I am getting ready to embrace autumn, when she’s ready, but I hope it will be a good while yet, I’m still enjoying the dog days of summer (unfortunately, without a dog).
