Here, today in England, it is a Public Holiday known as the Late Summer Bank Holiday. Now can I let those of you not in the know into the secret, that on a Bank Holiday in England it always rains….to prove the point in Scotland where it is not a Public Holiday, and after days of rain, the sun is bright in the sky and its a glorious day.
Nor is the forward forecast much better for our region so I guess I can hang up the Sunhat for another year……the more depressing thought is that the next Public Holiday is Christmas….now there is a thought ![]()

And that rain will come to us tonight, David. Tomorrow is no public holiday, but it will be very wet nevertheless. 🙂

Like the link. But I never said it only rains on Bank Holidays as we certainly are expecting a wet week. However, the Met. Office could write the forecast in advance and without reference to any satellite images foe English Bank holidays…wet!

Some things never change, the weather on Bank Holiday in England and sunhats. I have the same style here in Oz just a little more battered and bleached 🙂

Well, the Weather Wizards did promise us – The Netherlands – a warm start of September. Sunshine and temperatures in the twenties. Nice warm days and hopfully fresh nights which is a combination for great photos in the early mornings with all the ground fog. Mystical meadows with ‘floating’ cows in it… and such. Hope you will get that as well in England.
As for Oz… saw a weather person at CNN’s and he showed a map of Oz with moderate temps of 18 degrees Centigrade but very warm up north, near the sea between Indonesia and Australia. Are you up north?
