Early morning sun and mist at the Big Wood Yews…….
A whole week of sunshine has been very welcome and also suggestive of Spring. Whilst there are some signs that Spring is making a start others seasonal indicators indicate that winter is still reluctant to let go.
Swaths of Snowdrops can still be found…

But buds show no signs of bursting any time soon on the trees.

One of our bird nest boxes shows signs that someone is trying to establish ownership but at the moment no one is home. But the Ivy has started it climb up the garden fence in search of the warmth of the sun….
But with sunny starts to the day like this I am certainly not complaining

We’re watching the slow approach of autumn down here and it’s also a very gradual process, with lots of sunshine as well. Haven’t been able to get out into the woods much, but hope to this afternoon. Your yews are lovely.

It has been a strange year, seasonal change has been unpredictable in sequence and slow in progress no matter which of the 4 seasons we watch. Enjoy your autumn woodlands

I wouldn’t be complaining, either, David! Lovely photos — the top pic is my fave…like a beautiful painting, and the snowdrops and ivy. The bird box looks like nature has taken it over anyway… 😀

Beautiful sunshine in your photographs. My favorite is the wee birdhouse. I hope you soon have cute tenants there 🙂
