Cee’s Odd Ball Photo Challenge – Week 45

I have always been fascinated by the Lotus Flower, not a plant we see often here in the UK, our climate isn’t conducive to its health.  So we rely upon Botanical Gardens and Private Collectors who nurture the blooms.

But what I have always found very strange about them is when they are fully open there is this ‘artificial looking’ seed pod….looks more an addition to the flower rather than a vital part.
