Lens Artist Challenge #32 ….. Shadows

DOI_4470_00170

Silhouette or Shadows

Tina has nominated the topic for this week as Shadows.  I guess many of us use shadows to make our pictures without too much thought, not singling shadows out as the main element… but it is the part of the image that gives it shape and dimension.  Some times the shadow is the image and the highlights secondary. From Silhouette or maybe a spotlight to creating a solid backdrop, we would be all the poorer for not having shadows in our photographic life

  1. Fab! I spotted Eilean Donan and Castlerigg? And love the shadow and light in the second one – no clue where that is, but I suspect not on this Sceptred Isle!

  2. Wow, David … you have truly outdone yourself with this set! What gorgeous light you’ve captured in all of these images, even if Peter is right that those chamber pots look rather unwieldy.

  3. A lovely collection, David. Perfect for the challenge. I love images that tell stories, so my favorite is your last one. I’m not surprised it has a sad history.
