Fradley Junction, Trent & Mersey Canal, Staffordshire
It was still early morning which probably explains why this normally busy junction on the Trent & Mersey Canal was so quiet with the waters calm like a mirror. The low sun caught the red brick buildings whilst the newly painted Swan Inn (also known as the ‘Mucky Duck’) positively bounced back the light.
Despite being early(ish), and as it was a Friday, with good weather forecast ahead I had still anticipate a good flow of traffic before the weekend. Pretty sure it will be congested on Saturday with boats queuing for there turn through locks.

Fradley Junction from Junction Lock
Yep…it was the quietest that I have known Fradley and the peace and tranquilly was rather pleasant…

and a good deal of industrial heritage. In its hay day of commercial canal traffic this would have been like the M1
