A Little Bit of Yorkshire
You would think we were Garden obsessive; this is the third Garden Visit in just over a week. Today let me share with you just a few highlights of Harlow Carr Gardens (RHS) near Harrogate, Yorkshire. Described as being designed to illustrate the different aspects of Yorkshire landscape, it is in todys terms a newish garden, still being adapted, and created. Its history goes back much further to the times when Harrogate was an up-and-coming Spa Water town, and the mineral rich spring in these garden lead to the creation of an Hotel and Bath House to ‘take the waters’. Todays gardens are very different and range from floral beds, water and fern covered streams to an expansive arboretum, Alpine House and Vegetable garden… the Bath House is now an exhibition venue, usually with craft shows.

Harlow Carr Gardens are now in the care of the Royal Horticultural Society, so benefits from a wealth of plant care knowledge from arround the World… but right here its Yorkshire… and they say ‘at its best!’ 🙂

I hope you enjoyed the Yorkshire air…. and as always….

Oh my goodness — so much green! My daughter, who is a medical researcher, is leading a study at the university where she works on how being in gardens and natural surroundings affects our health positively. I think it’s safe to say you aided your health often this past week!
