Texture can be found just about everywhere… The feathers of an Owl…

I guess that most of the textures in life are from nature, but man has also played his part. Like the Stonemason who tried to give textural interest to his Mill Stone…..

Sadly this Mill Stone, after many hours of skilled hard work, out on the moors, was left abandoned. Abandoned in the late 18th and early 19th centuries along with many others, once a cheaper, quicker millstone production started to be imported from France… or so we are told.
