The National Dress of the Sami People is my suggestion for Debbies OWS which this week is Outfit.
We were lucky enough to spend some time at a Sami Homestead. A very old nomadic lifestyle linked to the Reindeer Herds.
But don’t be fooled by the colourful traditional clothing. It is not just a Tourist theme but a practical style of clothing developed to endure both the cold and the nomadic lifestyle, in their life above the Arctic Circle.
A clothing style that can often be scene in Tromso and other northern Norwegian towns…its part of the Sami way of life.
