Castlerigg Stone Circle, Keswick Cumbria
The megalithic Stone Circle of Castlerigg, set in an idyllic Cumbrian mountain location, is bound to be a tourist magnet. This image was on a relatively quiet day. But at times the Stones do get suffocated with people. Nice that folk do take an interest in our historical roots but at times it can suffocate the place they so much want to visit.
Pick your time, be patient and then the Circle can look so peaceful..

It is hard to get the balance between encouraging visitors and providing care for the very location they want to view. Thankfully most visitors are respectful, sadly many are just not.
Take cate wherever you are… and as always….

What a beautiful location. Your photos have wonderful depth. Any word that ends in two g’s has to be historic! Castlerigg…

This is Castlerigg as I would have liked to have seen it sadly the only time I went was a very dull day. Such is life.
