It has only been a week…but a week of warm sunshine, blue skies and that wonderful Spring feeling in the air… and yes, everyone had a big smile on the faces.
So we best make up for all those dull dark and wet days. It was also an opportunity to visit some gardens. One we selected was Trentham Gardens, gardens which with their flower borders and Italian Terraces, we normally see in its bountiful summer colours…. so mid March would be a very different experience.
The gardens were obviously bare, but prepared for the seasons to come. The gardening staff had planned and done their best to add colour with many planters of Spring bulbs, many yet to flower, so maybe the best of springs colour is yet to come.
But it did present us with a chance to see the hard landscaping…Loggia, Terrace Walkways, crumbling Manor House and of course the intricate Italian beds with their bubbling fountains…. the wholes estate surrounded by Woodland and all sweeping down to the Lake. It is described as hard landscaping, but it the foundations upon which these important garden were created.
A very different and much appreciated experience.
One week of Spring appears to be our ration for the time being, but not I hope a return to the continues dark, grey , wet days of the past few months
No matter what changes the weather may bring, lets hope for the best and the return of Spring…and as always also….
Please Remember ….
Stay Safe …. Be Kind…. Look After Each Other
