August is now well and truly with us… the fields are golden yellow, and the Harvest well underway. This year Harvest started early. Our heatwave weather has I understand created an earlier Harvest, but shorter growth and not as fruitful.
Autumn may seem along way off…. but harvest time is a marker of the change in the seasons.
Enjoy your August… and as always….

fruit farmers are saying they expect a poor crop in quanity…fruit like Damsons shrivelled. Blackberries locally have farto many that are just too seedy no juice. Then the burds will suffer.

We always enjoy peach season here in August. Alas, the peaches aren’t as good this year and I hear our apple crops will not be as good either. Farmers have had a rough go of it this year for certain. But corn is plentiful and yummy and we’re loving fresh corn on the cob right now.
