Over the UK and many other places across Europe there will be Celebrations to mark VE Day 80. I can understand the Celebrations that took place 80 years ago, hard to place oneself in that time and place in World History.
Lets not forget those, that are unable to Celebrate, who had fought and died in WW2. and of course those families that they were never able to grow old with… so in respect to all of them, I thought that posting these Poppies would be a fitting tribute.
(These Poppies were part of the Weeping Window Tribute, created in 2014 at the Tower of London, to mark the dreadful losses of WW1. It later travelled the country …. here on display in Derby in 2017)
Very sadly I fear that as a World we have not learnt any lessons. … peace remains elusive for many and perhaps still a big threat for many more…. in particular the Leaders of our so called Super Powers, appear very dangerous.
Lets Remember with Respect and live in hope… and we can always try to…
