Traditional Easter Greetings...

Just to prove that there is nothing really new in this world, I bring you Easter Greetings from the 1890’s.  An Easter Greetings Card published by Raphael Tuck and Sons sometime prior to 1893*

Interesting that Victorian symbolism is still used today and may well have been used for many generations before this card was printed.

Daffodils are still very symbolic of Easter …and of course the blooming of Spring.

 

* The Card is from my collection of Cards. Although there is no date on the card we can date it, the Raphael Tuck logo on the reverse has no Royal Warrant accompanying the name.  This was granted in 1893 by Queen Victoria and all products from then on bore the Warrant.
