At the end of a week where we commemorated the start of World War I, we have been graphically remanded of the immense loss of life and destruction, as well as recognising some great acts of individual heroism and sacrifice, I thought the above image was an appropriate symbol upon which to end this very significant week.
100 years have passed but it has become very apparent this week just how big an impact events all those years ago still have for so many. It was also a reminder that however remote a location in the U.K. may have been….nowhere was left untouched by those events in 1914.
