That magic golden hour does not occur every day but when it does it is both great great time to be out and about for Photographers and Artists…but also a great time that does lifts ones spirits. Nor is it just one hour, it can be a fleeting moment, it can also linger longer and can happen at both dawn and/or dusk.
Dawn
Dawn over Derwentwater, Cumbria, English Lake District
Day break and a warm glow gives all a promise of a great day ahead, though that is obviously not always the case…but we all live in hope and expectation!
Dusk
Dusk at Worms Head, The Gower, South Wales
At the end of a day the falling sun adds its glow. At this stage is can be full of expectation of something much richer. But that is never guaranteed as was the case on the evening above… as beautiful as it was with sea merging into sky, cloud bubbled up from the horizon and killed off any hope of a golden sunset, so the moral is enjoy it whilst you can.
Golden
Sunset over The Lune Light, Morecambe Bay
Then on a cold (very) winters day with clear skies as if from know where you get the perfect end to a day…a true golden glow.
