Saint Dubhthac’s Church and Clachan Duich Burial Site, Kintail
It may well be roofless but this lonely Scottish Kirk and Burial Ground has always been a favourite location for me….manly because of the spiritual feel it still has within its now empty walls and from the chill of reading the many names on the memorial stones in this sacred burial ground of the Clan Macrae of Kintail.
It may also be special because of its unique location above Loch Duich and in the shadows of the Five Sisters of Kintail, the high mountain ridge that has overlooked the Kirk for well over a 1000 years.
As for Ghost from the past, no doubt there are many here about…some from those soles lost in the very bloody 1719 Battle of Glenshiel that took place a little over a stone throw away.
It may be small but is as Grand a Religious building as any Cathedral or Ancient Abbey
