This morning the skies are that thick milky grey that shows little sign of ever allowing the sun through ever again. Add to that a very marked temperature drop and the day is starting to feel much more like November. In the woods the leaf cover is only now starting to thin whilst still managing to retain that autumnal glow.
Now that the Rut is well and truly over the Deer are once again socialising in their extended family groups……
Whilst most are now calmly able to enjoy and graze the more open aspects of the woods others still remain shy and cautious….
Our forecasters promise us a sunny day tomorrow…we will see. But we cannot complain, the summer extended into autumn and that in its turn still appears keen to stay with us a while longer. With Christmas now only a month away winter must surely soon make its mark.

I hope you’re really savoring that balmy weather. We can’t even go out to the mailbox without bundling up with fleece, hat, and gloves during the past couple of days. Lucky you. Believe it.
