A Break in the Weather….makes for a great Sunday.

It was a welcome change to get out onto the Moors, the wet weather and gales had begun to create ‘cabin fever’.  White clouds scurried across a blue ground but the suns rays were un-seasonably and very welcomingly  warm.  Rain and storms have been the norm so far this year but with a marked lack of the winter frosts and ice. This has created a bonus for the moorland vegetation of Bilberry and Heather which is starting to look lush with new growth.

There are even signs were the heather had been ‘burned back’ in the autumn, of new growth returning to those areas of the moor that only a few months ago were blackened and bare……

But to-day was one to enjoy the open vistas and gallons of fresh air effectively blowing away those winter cobwebs that start to clog the brain.  The sun tempted many a walker to the moor..all very much with a ‘spring in their step’…..

Cloud did start to build towards the end of the day spoiling any chance of a sunset, none the less it still managed to brighten the woods as we headed for home……

 

Nor was Buster the only one to show a marked reluctance to head for home…..But then again, he like me, is easily tempted by the promise of a good meal and a refreshing drink. Now with the curtains drawn, and the February night shut out, we can reflect and dream…….

 

The Weather Forecasters aren’t in the same dream as they predict a week that will be calmer but still bring plenty of rain and wind, guess it is back to the dream.
