Shipley Woods
Sunshine and new spring green leaves on the Beech Trees really brighten our walk today in Shipley Woods.
We are making the most of the sunshine; so far this week the weather has given us all 4 seasons each day……and todays forecast seems to be for the same again.
Nor can I tell you why this walk is called Beggars Walk….maybe they just wanted something dramatic for the sign!

The Chestnut Tree is staring to cast its heavy shadow under its spreading branches, whilst Blossom is yet to show in the ornamental garden the Bluebells continue to spread their blue glow across the woodland floor…
Todays Bonus is that the Lodge Tea Rooms have opened for the season….sunny as the day may well be it is also bitterly cold, so that bonus is a warming mug of Hot Chocolate..

Refreshed its back to the Beech woods and with luck back to the car before the promised storms arrive…

Thank you…we do live in a very green part of the country (the rain helps !) 🙂

Beautiful photos (as always) David. I love the clarity and the colours. Well taken 🙂

Thank you…the low light helps and lack of leaf coverage allows it in to the darkest places….but a good deal of luck as well. Got back to the car with the dogs and the heavens opened 🙂

Nice just to wander with no specific aim but to relax and enjoy

The best time of the year. You are a bit ahead of us, but the two last days I have seen tiny beech trees coming along nicely.

Today we have a wet snow and a temperature drop to 5c….so may be we will slip backwards….but yes it was nice to see some progress in the woods so there is hope 🙂
