Our Mini Heatwave is in Decline

Allestree Lake
These hot sunny summer days have been very welcome…we have waited long enough for a real summer to arrive. Too hot to travel far so we stayed local.
However this spell is predicted to be short lived and change is on the way, there is even a breeze across the Lake to ripple the surface.
There are also small but subtle autumnal colours starting to appear….
These feathered early risers were quite content to seek out some shade

Fishermen few and far between this morning but for those who did head down to the lakeside they could perhaps enjoy the peace and tranquility they were searching for..

Despite the relatively early hour one family perhaps thought it best to make the most of the sun before it became too hot….so I guess it was a pick nick Breakfast

Thunder forecast and a short rainy spell in the offing…then hopefully its back to some great late summer weather.

Wonderful once again. Thanks!! Yes… the first Autumn signs become visible. When I cycled into Berkel village I saw the fallen leaves of the poplars already on the ground. And the first bit of an earthy scent was faintly in the air.
