November ….. Allestree Lake
Credit where credit is due…November has been a good month. Not exactly going to the master plan with autumns colours only arriving in the later days….but then they have been magnificent.

Temperatures have been above November norms so I expect that we will hear that it is has been a record warm month…..so perhaps it was fitting that the weather gods decided to wait for the last few days of November to produced the first of the years frosts, well the first in our small corner of the UK that is….
But the frosts have quickly fulfilled their seasonal role and stripped the leaves from all but the Oak and the evergreens…

Not that the frost and cold deterred early morning Golfers

Down by the Lake the odd splash of autumnal colour still manages to lift the now dark and mysterious look to the waters

For the most part only the skeletons remain….along with some colourful memories.

The forst snow was here for just about a month ago. (40 cm) That has all gone during the last 3-4 weeks, but this morning it wasx white again. Not much. Only 1-2 cm and it will probably disappear during the week, but it was there,
It’s not over!

I know it is not over…but for us in our small part of the world…it hasn’t arrived as yet! BUT we know it will, then the question will be how severe and for how long?

I’m sorry to see November go, but each season has its own special beauties and joys, and I’m already welcoming December.
