In the grand scheme of things I guess it is no big deal…..
But for me it is another of those milestones that one likes to ‘click off’ as the seasons move ever onwards……Yes, it is our first Hydrangea bloom of the year. Not a very big bloom but it does have the honour of being the first.

It’s magnificent as every flower is. Beautiful colours against that vibrant green!

I am told it is all to do with the soil (acid or none acid) and those who know much more than me suggest that by adding something round the roots you can change that balance and so change the colour. Not that there is anything wrong with a Hydrangea in any colour all are unique in their own way. But if you click this link it will take you to my blog page at the National Hydrangea collection near us.. https://davidoakesimages.wordpress.com/2014/07/17/hydrangea-reprieve/

Yes, I’ve heard it has to do with the soil too. Well, whatever is in yours sure made that bloom beautiful. I’m off to click on your link. Thank you!
