I am told we had our ‘first’ frost of the season….well ‘I am told’ is the operative phrase, by the time my eyes had opened to welcome the new day, the frost had gone.
Mind you it did leave a legacy of a wonderful calm sunny morning down by the Lake
But beware…
things are afoot in the woods.
Yes, its Halloween so best not to go down to the woods tonight as you don’t know who might be hanging around

At least someone has place a few offerings to placate the ‘spirits’

Go carefully tonight
31st October

Halloween….. Might have once had some meaning, now its just another Retail fuelled event which the media add hype to encourage more retailer advertising. π π»β π¦ π Just another moan from an old man who can remember when kids had good humoured fun.

We had our first frost yesterday and it’s still cold, but will eventually warm into the forties.Lately, the winds have blown a large amount of leaves from our trees, but color remains. As for Halloween, I agree with you. Stay warm and inside tonight !!

All Saints and All Hallows stil have meaning, David. Not just for christians but for pagans as well. Its’not the loud kids demanding treats. We have a similar idea as christians do. Better turn that around as first there were pagains… then christians. Never mind. In both religions we think about lost loved ones. And we ask them to pray for us. Pagans believe that the weil between both worlds, ours and the after world, is very thin and that in some cases a love one that passed away can come close to send a message of love and prayer to the one that’s still alive.
Pagains do not have much with All Saints, but a lot with All Hallows. We do turn it into a celebration of the last harvest and also of the Celtic New Year that will start tomorrow.
See, we don’t differ that much, do we? http://www.witchology.com/contents/october/halloween/halloweenorigins.php

But in days gone by no one could envisage the insidious retail world of today.
