The Weeping Window at the Silk Mill, Derby
Always Remember…Never Forget
A cascade of Poppies a tribute to those who have lost their lives, not just in the Great War but all conflicts across our World.
Will Peace ever be a reality or just a futile hope?
( I should mention the Tribute at the Silk Mill was much earlier in the year, it has travelled to many other locations and no doubt will travel further in the months ahead)

I recalled the Tower of London display and regretted not going to see it….at first I was a little sceptical when they said it was coming to Derby. Admittedly it was on a much smaller scale but no less dramatic and moving. The City also organised events with volunteers dressed in WW1 uniforms to take groups around memorable wartime locations in the city. For once Derby Council got it right and handled the whole Weeping Window event well. If you get a chance to see a display as it is on tour go you will not be disappointed.
