On the Moors….

Silver Birch on Stanton Moor, Derbyshire

After the vagaries and often harsh weather of the past week or so it was nice to waken to sunshine. It wasn’t an opportunity to be missed so we headed off to our favourite moor to stretch the legs and fill the lungs with real fresh air!

It remained sunny for most of our walk, at times bright blue at others a hazy cloud would dim the colours across the moors….one thing that hasn’t changed is a very icy wind from the east.  Not that we are complaining as we took the day for what it was…a bonus winters day.

There were one or two other folk out and about, all with big smiles on their faces, taking advantage of the very welcome break in the weather…what wasn’t there were the sheep, the pens empty and the moors bare, all taken in closer to home ready for the lambing season to begin.

Refreshed we head for home and wonder just what else the weather has in-store for us
