Culzean Castle, Ayrshire, Scotland
Today is the anniversary of the Birth of Robert Burns. So to mark the occasion I thought an image from the part of Scotland he knew well, would be appropriate.
Robert Burns (often referred to as Rabbie Burns) was born in Alloway, Ayrshire on the 25th January 1759. He had a short life living only until 1796. But his short life left a legacy that is still consider of great literacy importance. Known at the time, as the Bard of Ayrshire, the quality and popularity of his writings also earned him the Title of The National Poet of Scotland.
Today his birthday will be marked , not just in Scotland, but within Scottish communities across the World, with the traditional ‘Burns Super’ with its centre piece of Haggis, Neaps and Tatties.
