    • Well I am pleased that you feel inspired. Bad weather can arrive at any time but overall we have found the climate rather good….just avoid August for the midges are then at there worst. There is a saying that if you wait around long enough you can enjoy all 4 seasons in one day…a slight exaggeration 🙂

  1. I would wait a couple of weeks until the weather looks a littlebit better if I were you. 🙂
Scotland and NW England are quite notorious when it comes to the weather. I remember the storms and floods in 2014 (?). That was quote horrible. But also – much longer aho – my round trip travels by train through Scotland end of August. Apart from a storm while I was on a ferry from Kyle of Lochalsh to Mallaig, it was beautiful weather then. The best route was from Mallaig to Glasgow v.v. I don’t have my slides anymore. Lost in moving house in 2010. But I have photos in my brain. I can still see it. The little white church all alone. The sun on the green hills. The lochs and (I call ‘m fjords) the immense space and no people in sight. Glorious.
